The members of the Lightning Wave Band, bassist and band leader Floyd Robert Hussey aka Sly, singer Jerome Nicolas Smickle, drummer Collen Junior Fullerton aka Stumpy and keyboarder Martin Luke Allen, met in March 2006 at the Starfish Trelawny hotel while playing for separate bands.
Having gained experience by extensive practicing and performing locally and overseas with many famous artists, each one of the members brought something unique to the table. With great admiration for each other's talents, they realized that together, they could become a very successful group. They began to practice together and quickly became one of the preferred bands around the island of Jamaica. To this date, the Lightning Wave Band has entertained local and overseas music lovers in many hotels, nightclubs and other selected locations around the island.

Although Jamaica, the birthplace of Reggae is home to Lightning Wave and its members, the group boasts an impressive repertoire of not only Reggae but also Funk, Soul, R&B, Blues, Hip Hop, Rock and Jazz.
In April 2013, the band embarked on a 6 months contract on Royal Caribbean’s Vision of the Seas.
